| Aurora's Journal (IV) - Wednesday, 10 November 1999 |
[Nov. 11th, 2007|12:42 am] |
The view tonight with the naked eye is incredible. Andromeda is very bright and breathtakingly beautiful, I am almost enjoying this more without my telescope.
The charity ball a week and a half ago was possibly the oddest but most entertaining thing I have witnessed in some time, I hope to see more events like it for such good causes. It's a shame, however, that not everyone participated in the midnight reveal.

| Aurora's Journal (II) - Monday, 28 June 1999 |

[Warded against Death Eaters (that Aurora knows - since she has no idea Aiden is Reg and Reg is a former DE, he can see this)] I find I really don't know what to say about all of it. I suppose my concern is how very many of them are on the journals. When I think of children owning them and opening one to see all of this... it leaves me rather speechless.
In a happier vein, I am really looking forward to the astronomy night at the orphanage, and I have recieved almost everyone's return owls, but a few of you forgot to mention a few things.
[Several messages to multiple people here.]
Hannah, I received your owl but you didn't mention whether your father will be attending. Is he?
Daphne, I didn't receive a response from you. You are free to bring a guest, if that is why you haven't answered yet.
Mr Sarcelles, Carina owled me today - though the handwriting was hardly a young girl's so I'm assuming someone else wrote it - asking if that child she has mentioned before, Allyssa, could come along. She is certainly welcome, as are her parents. [/Warded]
[Private to self] I think I am developing a rather shameful crush on Aiden Sarcelles. What am I, fifteen? I certainly feel like it when he brings Carina over for tutoring and stays to watch. I really need to stop this nonsense in its tracks. The man is a recent widower, for Merlin's sake. [/Private]

| Aurora's Journal (I) - Sunday, 30 May 1999, late evening |
[May. 30th, 2007|08:54 pm] |
There is something to be said for studying the skies with the naked eye rather than through the lenses of a telescope. It makes it so much clearer then that one is not nearly so significant in the face of the vastness of the skies. The whole picture, rather than the singular view an astronomer normally is prone to seeing, can be quite overwhelming if you allow it to be.
The full moon tonight is especially lovely and definitely fitting of its name this month - the Milk moon - though now it is hard to catch sight of Regulus without the use of a telescope. It was rather bright in the sky last week right next to the moon, a sign of the little king's return to the higher part of the skies. I wonder what event of significance can be connected to it? That placement means something of significance is to occur. In the distant past it was the rise (metaphorical or actual) of royalty but there is hardly much of that in modern times.
